SPYD & Arriyadh Roaster Create a Luxurious Three-Piece Compartmentalized Holographic Packaging Box

Packaging becomes extraordinary through customization, as every brand aspires to create a luxurious box that combines aesthetics with functionality to showcase the charm of their brand packaging. Two years ago, we were just a manufacturer focused on the development of the custom gift box packaging industry. At that time, we were more adept at producing custom empty gift boxes, and we didn't delve much into the internal design of the boxes or the production of packaging materials.
 
In a situation where our manufacturing technology for product packaging boxes was not fully mature, we received an inquiry on our website from the design team of Arriyadh Roaster in Saudi Arabia. They needed our assistance in producing a relatively complex coffee packaging box. The structure of this coffee box was different from others; it would adopt a three-layer partition structure to create an independent and suitable packaging space for each product box.
 
This project was not only a test of our technical capabilities but also a challenge to our ability to meet the demands of a high-end brand. We were well aware that only through exceptional craftsmanship, innovative design, and meticulous service could we truly win the trust of our clients.

Client Requirements: The Perfect Fusion of Luxury and Functionality

The design team of the Arriyadh Roaster presented us with a complex requirement: they wanted us to assist in producing a coffee packaging box with a three-piece compartmentalized structure, creating an independent and suitable packaging space for each product. This structure needed to ensure the safety and stability of the products while also presenting a high-end and luxurious visual effect. Additionally, the packaging box needed to feature a holographic effect to enhance brand recognition and appeal.
 
The client's needs were very clear: they required not just a packaging box, but a piece of art that could convey brand value and elevate the user experience.

Initial Design: The Attempt with a Black Packaging Box

In the early stages of the project, we designed a packaging box with a black color scheme based on the client's requirements. Black symbolizes high-end and mystery, aligning with the brand's pursuit of a luxurious feel. However, during the actual sampling process, we identified several issues:

Three problems make the box look bad:

  • Monotonous Visual Effect: Although black is high-end, it did not prominently display the holographic effect, especially under light, where the layering of the holographic patterns was not sufficiently noticeable.
  • Material Limitations: The black paper initially chosen did not provide enough color contrast when printing the holographic patterns, resulting in a less stunning overall effect.
  • Complex Compartmentalized Structure: The design of the three-piece compartmentalized structure was not clear enough against the black background, potentially causing inconvenience to users.
 
Despite the initial design not fully meeting the client's expectations, we were not discouraged. Instead, we viewed it as a valuable learning opportunity and decided to work closely with the client to optimize the design.

Optimization Process: The Gorgeous Transformation from Black to Silver

To address the issues in the initial design, we engaged in multiple in-depth discussions with the client and decided to comprehensively optimize the packaging box. Below are the steps we took:

Color Adjustment: From Black to Silver

After numerous tests, we decided to change the primary color from black to silver. Silver not only retains a high-end feel but also better showcases the holographic effect, especially under light, where the silver background can reflect more dazzling brilliance, enhancing visual impact.
 
The combination of silver and holographic patterns allows the packaging box to display a rich array of color changes from different angles, boosting brand recognition and appeal.

Material Upgrade: Pursuing Ultimate Texture

We selected higher-quality silver paper, which not only has excellent gloss but also better supports the printing of holographic patterns.
 
For the compartmentalized structure, we used lighter yet sturdy materials to ensure each product is securely placed in its independent space while enhancing the overall texture.

Structural Optimization: Prioritizing User Experience

To address the complexity of the compartmentalized structure, we simplified the internal design. Through precise measurements and structural optimization, we ensured that each product could be easily placed and removed while maintaining the overall aesthetics.
 
We also added cushioning materials to further enhance product protection, ensuring no damage during transportation.
 

Enhanced Holographic Effect: Creating a Visual Feast

Building on the silver background, we redesigned the holographic patterns, adding more details and layers. Through meticulous printing techniques, the holographic patterns displayed richer color variations under different lighting conditions, further enhancing the visual appeal of the packaging box.

Final Outcome: The Perfect Fusion of Luxury and Functionality

After multiple adjustments and optimizations, we successfully created a three-piece compartmentalized holographic packaging box that combines beauty and functionality. This packaging box not only met the client's demand for a luxurious feel but also enhanced brand recognition and appeal through the combination of the silver background and holographic patterns. The optimized compartmentalized design ensured product safety and ease of use.
 
When the client received the final sample, their joy was palpable. The design team of the Arriyadh Roaster expressed that this packaging box not only elevated the product's grade but also enhanced the brand's visual impact through the holographic effect. They plan to use this packaging box as the standard for their high-end product line and look forward to continuing their collaboration with SPYD to launch more customized packaging solutions in the future.
